Hello and welcome to the paid-subscription Studio Notebook Art Space, in the month of July! I’ve been trying to invent a name for this monthly edition of tutorials, activities, and draw/paint-alongs; for now I’ve decided on calling it Art Space.
I’ve been thinking about time constraints and would like to offer some less time-intensive art making prompts and small insights about creative practice as a part of the Art Space subscription. We’ll still have longer-form tutorials; but I’d love to send out a few brief essays and thought exercises that are reading-based and don’t require an unpacking of all the art supplies.
The arrival of this little puppy (above) has been delightful, and we’ve been adjusting to the more complicated schedule that includes running outside for bathroom breaks, taking puppy along on work trips and swimming lessons, piling all the shoes out of puppy’s reach, etc. At the end of the day I feel tired and really quite at a loss for drawing ideas.
